     Joseph Renzulli has conducted years of research about gifted people.  He has created a Three Ring Conception of Giftedness that shows the main aspects of gifted individuals. 

Many students have strengths in one or more of these three areas, but gifted individuals excel in all three.  They are:
  1. Task Commitment:  The level of motivation a student has to complete work thoroughly.
  2. Creativity:  The skill to generate many new, unusual and useful ideas.
  3. Above Average Ability:  The ability to absorb large amounts of information.
